FYI... don't forget it depends on what gear it's dyno'd in and what dyno is being used...

Not trying to argue here, but I have seen it with my own eyes guys.
After Magnuson finished with my truck on their dyno, they said that my Avalanche was "right up there with all the other 5.3L" motors they had installed the Radix on, which was 360 RWHP, according to their equipment. Yet my Dyno runs from last weekend show me about 20 HP lower.

The only change I've made since that day at Magnuson is a cat-back, which actually should have added 5-7 RWHP, putting me at 365-370. So why did I only pull 339 last Saturday at the Dyno Shop? There were 30+ guys there, including some serious gearheads with Vettes and Cobras in the 500's and 600's. I bet if the dyno had been off, someone would have said something.

I think Magnuson's dyno is high by 20-25 RWHP. That would put your other Avalanche at 236-241 RWHP, which is right where mine was at stock.

I don't see why it's not possible. Those are the one with 14.7's slips on the .25 bone stock.

Heh, we left right at 11:00. I didn't take a pull with the new truck, but only because we had to cut out early and I hadn't signed up for it. I'll probably take it up to the Street Trendz Grand Opening and see what it pulls stock, unless I get an opportunity before then.

I still say 240rwhp and maybe 260rwhp on the newer models.

Keep in mind that the F-bodies are WAAAAY underrated. They claim 305HP for a Z28 yet I have seen many put down 300-310rwhp bone stock. These are on reputable dynos and no tricks.

yes gm under rates all of their V8 engines. I wouldn't be surprised if my truck put down 265 rwhp and 290-300 rwtq. It's just their are to many factors but averages are the best way to go.

What came first?

Chicken?

Egg?

Like the above question, the dyno/HP ratings will be debated through the ages. Bottom line is, just take it to a dyno until you are happy with the results.....
