Default Stock Plug Gap .035

I just started pulling my plugs to change them and my stock plugs are gapped to .035? I thought they were suppose to be .060? Is there any point in my putting in TR55's? The plugs that are in it are ACDelco 12571164 Iridium's Gaped at .035 I have never touched the plugs before.

That is my thought too, but I would like to go one heat range cooler before I go any higher with my boost. I guess that would be TR-6's ( NGK )

Had the same thing with my truck, when I pulled out my stock delco plugs I checked the gap on them and they were .035 also. I thought that was kind of strange considering the factory sticker under the hood says .060.

I thought that the factory gap for the iridium plugs was .045, and .060 for the platinums, and the iridium plugs are supposed to be pre-gapped when you buy replacements. FWIW, my truck (99 5.3) came with AC Delco platinums, and when I pulled them out a few years ago to check them, the gaps varied from .045 to .065. They all looked good and the truck ran fine, just had inconsistent gaps.

Cool

That is what I am using and no problems so far that I know of. I am slowly bringing the boost back up and I am up to about 8 psi so far. Still not quite as high as I was getting when I had the red wastegate spring. Time to give the boost control another turn.

If it wasnt for the supercharger then I would just leave the factory plugs in.
