Stock Muffler Performance?

Yeah I noticed that when you posted the pictures. Since exhaust is entering from both pipes it seems logical there has to be some type of outlet but I sure don't see one. Does it have some type of pressure valve that allows exhaust to escape when it builds to a certain pressure? Seems like the muffler would explode if it didn't have an outlet.

Sorry to revive an old thread but this picture screams to me! GREAT PIC CurtD
Look in the middle chamber of the five chambers If were to remove the pipe in this chamber, won't this thing flow as well as most DI/SO aftermarkets?
It would have two perforated inlets leading into a chamber with the single tailpipe flowing away. It would keep the built in resinator and be absolutely like factory.
Anybody think this would work? How would it sound? How would it flow? Am I crazy?
I'm going to try it.

Seems like a lot of trouble when an you can get a decent after market muffler for $50-75. Wouldn't you have to cut the top off your muffler like in the pics, make your modification, weld the top back on and hope there aren't any leaks in your work? Don't seem worth it to me, but to each his own.
