Im sure the new heads will be gold prices though but the old 6.0 heads should go for cheaper now maybe. I was just wodnering if they would be worth it as a direct swap for stock 5.3's

I know that some have done this swap, but I really don't recommend it unless your deliberately looking for compression ratios of around 8.0:1. An LS6 head (casting #243) has a 65cc chamber and would make a better swap as far as compression is concerned. Unfortunately they're a bit more expensive for the core charge than the 6.0l heads. As another thought, we have a CNC program that will open up the stock 5.3l truck chambers to 65cc. IMO this is the prefered choice as the edges of the chambers don't exceed the edges of the stock 5.3l bore size. The 65cc chambers should get the cr down under 9.0:1.
