Stock 4.8 handle 600hp?
Alright guys, looking for thoughts on this. Can the old little 4.8 handle a few pulls to clinch the 600HP mark for nothing more then ***** and giggles & maybe a few track runs later on.
Currently setup makes: 528Hp/528Tq (https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=463817)
Stock 4.8L (including stock head studs, gaskets, rod bolts) 80,000 miles
E85 12.1 a/f's under boost, 19 degree's timing
LS6 Cam, Yellow Springs
MP70 (67mm,p-trim, .81 a/r) currently running 10psi
Stock Clutch (lol, poor thing) Stock 5speed
Walbro 255HP and KB BAP
600hp Plan: remove the Kenny bell boost a pump, install another walbro 255, install stronger wastegate spring, turn timing down to around 15, and turn boost up till 600hp is reached.
Thoughts and or opinions?
Also, truck isn't track capable AT ALL with this 5speed nv3500. It refuses to shift into 3rd after a hard 2nd gear pull. This trans only has 25k miles on it, running GM fluids. After HP is made, some kind of transmission swap will be done, either stick or auto.

Damn nice numbers man. I don't think this will help your shifting problem in a 500+ hp/tq application, but have you done the drill mod on the clutch master cylinder yet?
I'm actually astonished the stock trans has lasted 25k, but am guessing you've been through a couple at this point.
