Default sticky street tires?

i'm not getting the full benefit of my 2600 stall and tune. i was looking for some sticky street tires to replace the general stockers i have now. i like the looks of the proxes s/t and the price is right.

is there another street tire i should consider?

or would it be better to go with some caltracs instead?

something im missing maybe a 2" rear drop?

i have the stock suspension, stock alum wheels.

The Toyos are a great choice! They will last a while yet are still pretty sticky when you need them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second set once mine wear out.

I've got Continental 4x4 (just the name, not an off road tire) tires on 17" Escalade rims that hook up great. Have you tried launching your truck from an idle, without even powerbraking it at all against the converter. I found if I just sit there at idle, release the brake and then mash the gas, it will spin for like 3 feet and then go! I don't know that much about Caltracs (or anything else for that matter) but I think they are only to eliminate wheel hop. Check with Brian (BlownChevy) about the Caltracs as I think he had a Group Purchase on them awhile back and I'm sure he could answer any questions you might have about them.

the eagle gt II's also blow. i'd look into drag radials, either bfg, nitto's, or mt's.
