Default Stainless obx style headers

my next mod is gonna be a set of long tube headers.several people told me about a good deal on ebay. obx style headers that are stainless. has anybody had a problem with the way they fit or the spark plugs being to close to the header tube or y pipe not fitting properly for the correct application the header was designed to fit on ? my nephew got a set of obx but i dont know what they were to fit but i do know they are not the long tube and i think he was wanting to do a turbo set up. i will be searching other threads and posts for long tubes and a y pipe set up for my truck. 03 silverado ecsb with 5.3.

Shoot Dan (DV2000NJ) a PM about the ones that he got which are listed as a Tahoe application I believe, they don't have the "hump" on the driver's side that causes spark plug wire interference problems...I'll see if I can find the thread where he referenced them...

Can anybody confirm that the 07+ Tahoe headers will fit 99-06 trucks? Along with the OP, I need to know this, too
OBX knockoffs for 99-06 are $300 on ebay
OBX 07+ Tahoe are ~$550 on ebay

All of the sudden, LPP's($500) are back in the race.

Both of these are the headers I have, just from different sellers (I don't remember which I bought from though).

It sucks that they don't come with an Off Road Y pipe

Dan already provided the links, but I was going to reply that he used the 00-07 classic Tahoe headers. Not sure if the 07+ ones will fit, but I *think* that they will and the only difference is the y-pipe...or that may be 07+ truck headers that I'm thinking of

Wink

Although the Ebay headers' driver's side "hump" isn't all that pretty, it also isn't that big of a deal to work around, if you want (arguably) the best longtube/Y pipe deal out there.

Tomorrow, will be exactly one year since I installed my $300 Ebay stainless longtubes and it's included Y pipe on my 2002 Z71 ECSB and I have yet to experience a problem with spark plug wires due to the dreaded "hump". All I did was "wrap" the two plug wires that are closest to the pipes with insulating wrap (like used on a turbo) and that's it. The one at the hump actually lays right on the pipe. No issues, ever.

Yea, just like with the old Dynatechs, as long as you find a method to keep the wires away from the primaries there won't be any problem, guys have been running em for years. Some guys just don't like the way it looks though (I've never been a fan, but if that was the only style available that's what I'd be running)

Might have to bump your old header thread for it's one year anniversary!
