SS/Z28 Silverado? What do you guys think?

I was contemplating building an SS or possibly even Z/28 style Silverado as kind of a throwback to the first-gen Camaros. It will probably be a RCSB possibly lowered 4x4
99+ Silverado. I was thinking Hugger Orange, but I'm open to suggestions. What do you guys think of that idea? Cool or stupid? Also, what I would really like an opinion on is what kind of wheels should be on a truck like that. I want a kind of vintage feel. No chrome or anything. If you guys could post any ideas you have about the rims that would be great as well. Thanks.

I think it's an awesome idea! Hugger Orange with the SS stripes...I'd like to see what a Ralley (sp?) wheel looks like on there, or maybe an older style slotted aluminum. Wonder if anyone makes anything like that in a 16 or 17.

Another vote for hugger orange. I think that Goodmark cowl hood with the flipper door with some racing stripes would be bad ***! I would stick with a classic Centerline style wheel though. If you are going to do it, do it right and stick with a good lightweight forged wheel.

As for rims, take a look at the American Racing Torque Thrust II's ST(I believe that's them). The make two versions: chrome six spoke, or the Gray six spoke(my favorite of the two). Since you don't want chrome I'd go with the gray ones. You can go to their website and use the virtual thing to see what'd the look like.

Not necessarily no chrome, just nothing huge and gaudy and modern. I'm really gonna do it with attention to detail and try and make it with as many little trademarks of those earlier cars as I can. Yeah, I've pretty much decided on the Hugger Orange with black ralley stripes paint scheme. Should be pretty sweet, I'll keep you guys updated.
