SS truck ET ?
#21
Yeah, low 15's seem to be the norm. The track closed just before I got mine. I plan on being there opening day in the spring. Probably still stock.
To stick up for my SS purchase (
), I have to say that it was cheaper and less stressful for me to go out and buy a platform that was already a real good starting point for me. I was looking for 20's, a mild drop, 6.0, etc. etc. for my last truck, and it would have taken me a while to get there.
Personally, I wanted the extended cab and needed AWD/4WD.
How much more weight does the extended cab add?
I think the SS deserves the badge. Bigger motor not offered in that chassis, interior/exterior styling, slightly stronger tranny, wheels offering better cornering performance. It runs a lot stronger and sounds MUCH meaner than my old 5.3, that's for sure.
The Impala and Monte... not quite. They probably fit the above pretty well, but I'm insulted that they're now running 6-cylinders with front wheel drive.

I noticed something funny around here the other day... I don't quite know how it took so long... but, it's very rare to find a RCSB on the lot up here in Massachusetts. It's just as rare to see a RCSB on the road, as an SS. (haven't seen one since I got mine in November). Even two wheel drives are pretty rare. Everything seems to be a Z71 ECSB, or 2500+.
On the other hand, I visited the Houston area recently and they were everywhere.

My SS weighted in at 5080lbs without me. Gas Empty light on, no hitch, spare in back.

I have just a plain generic bedrug. I bought it at Earl Owens in Dallas. I'm going to have to change my signiture.
My old Z71 weighed just under 5100 w/o driver, so I'd think the SS would be close.
