Come back with more $$!
J/K your best mod will be a tune, be it a mail order or dyno.
Other than that a cat-back exhaust and intake will use up your $1k pretty fast.
Where you located?

I'd go for 4.10's and a mail order or dyno tune like trever1t said.

Tune, shift kit, and stall. Would probably void your tranny warranty, but those 3 mods would give you a low to mid 14 second sleeper truck.

The only things I know of that won't void your warranty is intake, exhaust, and hand held programmer. That way if you need work done, you can take your tune out.

Just my 2 cents.

So how about this:

Cutout
AirRaid CAI
HPTuner
2" drop shackles

How far would that get me?

I think:

-custom CAI-$25-$50
-cutout or a magnaflow muffler(3" in/out single) and tailpipe(3" mandrel bent)-I got mine for $225 installed
-gears(3.73, it wont affect gas milage to much...mabye 1 mpg, get used to it u are driving a truck and if u want it to go fast, I'll cost ya!)- price? IDK mabye $400?
-WaitforMe tune- plus with this is that for 157.70 u can have a decent tune and can keep your stock PCM...so when it has to go in the dealership, you just swap em out
-shift kit and vette servo- $160 and thay wont know its in there, another move
-2" drop shackes-cheap mod, $40 it will enhance the look but you wont see any performance gain, just visual.

There is your $1000+ and a timeslip should show a low 14
