If you don't mind me asking. How much did the shop charge you?

Its true what wolf said, mandrel benders aren't very common. Though, there is a guy who has one local to me.

Quite a bit. I paid for header install, the dual exhaust and two mufflers/ 4 inch tips. 550ish. It's strong but i just don't feel like I got my money's worth to be honest.. I didn't even read anything about mandrel vs crush until I looked at the pipes and everyone is saying if its crushed I might as well have done a 3 inch all the way back because the bends would crush down to 2.5 anyway. I wanna think that using 1 7/8 made me lose that mid range but I'm pretty sure it's the 2.5 pipes and crush bends

Yea but that's at the primaries in the headers. I can't find it now but I watched a few vids where they dynoed crush bent vs mandrel and there was a difference in power and noise

For those that are curious about primary tube sizes, and horse power/torque gains & losses this a really good older thread to read. SBC and LS engines are different birds when it comes to performance gains and exhaust. I wouldn't read too much into dyno results with SBC engines. 1 5/8" use the be the way to go. It is no longer the case with LS engines. Every 1 5/8" header we have had on the dyno usually ends up glowing red from restriction lol.

Stock Motor 1 3/4" Vs. 1 7/8 Engine Dyno Results!! - LS1TECH

Thanks

When will you guys put the near stock 5.3 on the dyno with your 3 inch true dual? I wanna see if me going 2.5 was worth it or if in the future ditch it for your kit

They did the dyno with a cammed 6.0 didn't they? I haven't read through this thread in a while but I think they said they'd put LT and their 3 inch true dual on a stock 5.3 and see if the 3 inch tubes were too big
