specs on stock 5.3 and 8.1 fuel sys
#1
Will a stock 5.3 fuel pump be able to feed 8.1L injectors sufficently?
What is the stock pump rated at for a 5.3 and 8.1L, differences?
5.3 fuel rail pressure?
8.1L injector rated fuel pressure and flow rate?
thanks

8.1 truck 31lbs, marine 8.1 43lbs. Both the 5.3 and 8.1 injectors are rated for the same presser. The 5.3 pump will be fine unless you are using 8.1 marine injectors close to their max. Then you'll need a pump booster. I don't know what flow the pumps are rated for but I do know they're different.

edgZ06:"click engine-general fuel- flow rate vs kpa. Your staock or current fuel injector size is listed.
If your stock injectors are 29 #, then at 0 vacuum the number shown is 29.15. If you are upgrading to 60 # injectors, just subtract 29 from 60 and add that number (31) to all the cells and that will do it."
Heres a calibration spreadsheet from redhardsupra one is for inj pw and the other for duty cycle

another method from

the easiest way to tune for larger injectors is to know the ratio of your existing ones and the new ones. eg. if your current ones are 28lb and new ones are 36lb then mutliply your whole table by 36/28 or 1.286. Its not exact but gets most of us close enough.
