how many of you guys actually INDEX your plugs?

how many of yall know what INDEXING is?

 

I've done it, but I dont like the idea of the plug not completely in the chamber. If you have the time and plugs to do it without shims then great... When I did mine with the heads off, I bought an extra set, I still ended up shimming three or four...

 

I know what it is, I've just never done it...I was contemplating doing it on my 71 Camaro back in 1988, even marked the plugs with a marker, then never followed through.

 

have done it in the past and don't do it anymore

it's a slow tedious process that just doesn't making any difference (at least for the amount of effort)

 

I know of a lot of the dirt track cars that run alcohol do.. these autolite racing plugs are the next set of plugs i put in my truck.. i like how the spark wont be underneath the grounding strap

 

did that with my old set of tr-6 plugs too..

 

Is it really worth wasting the time? I've heard good and bad things about it.

 

I've heard of a lot of older guys doing that to plugs. They would cut the tip off or file a V shape into it to bring the spark out some.

 

old school yes, new school with these efficient engines, no.

 

I bought some of these and never could figure out which way i wanted to index them..




Got tired of trying so i just got some of these..
figured they would work either which away they landed?


























HAHAH jk,, i just throw some TR6s in there and hammer down..
