Default Sorry another cam question, but it's a good one.

Would it be beneficial to go with a high duration cam but still keep the lift low and also have a tight lsa to keep midrange power at its best? For example, wouldn't a 224/224 .563/.563 110+0 make more under the curve power and still be able to make good peak power better than a 224/224 .588/.588 112+0? I would think that the 110 and low lift would suit stock heads better and the 112 higher lift would be better suited for ported heads or at least better flowing heads. Am I wrong here?

224 on a 110 is a pretty beefy cam for the 5.3. the way i understand it is more lift=free hp with these motors. someone will correct me if im wrong. personally i would go for the 112 lsa.

it's not too much bigger than the guys running the 226s on 112 lsa's. Only 2 degrees more overlap.

Nah Stew. Less duration, more lift, tight LSA for NA powa under the curve. 110*lsa or tighter FTW! I run a 224/226-110* in my 5.3 with 10.4:1 STR and i love it.

wouldnt a high duration, low lift, tight lsa be good for under the curve power on stock heads though?
