something is wrong with my thermostat??

Default something is wrong with my thermostat??

about a month ago I did the bb mod on my thermostat and I was disappointed cause it did not work??? today I drove my truck and I noticed that it finally worked???? needle was right at 185degrees and it stayed there the whole time??? did I do something wrong when I first installed it?? maybe the spring wasnt on right or something??? who knows but its working now!!!

its a free mod!!! instead of buying a low temp stat, you do the bb mod and is suppose to work the same???

Are you going by the factory guage? It isn't totally accurate...I think that it actually rises in steps (I've watched mine and that's what seems to happen) If it's a little cooler out, your truck might be running just a few degrees cooler allowing the guage to read one step down. Best bet would be to check the temp with a scanner or some other form of logging software.

i'm kinda confused about what fig c is... i'll figure it out tho, thanks for the info. And this mod will do what? Make the thermostat open earlier?

figure C is the part inside the casing, right in middle, you drop a bb in the little hole, then put it back together...


I think this mod does not let the thermostat close all the way???

why not just get a 180* thermostat?

wont you need the gasket anyways?
