I was on the phone with shaner today and he said that my ls6 springs aren't going to handle the spring pressure this cam is going to create.
i think it was something like this
ls6 springs can handle 90 lbs closing, and 230ish lbs opening
and my cam needs like 130 lbs closing and at least 300lbs opening
I was going solely on cam lift, and didnt even think about spring pressure, so a big thumbs up to shaner for the heads up on that.
So if anyone has any patriot dual springs (new preferably) for sale, ill take em.

its not just about breaking a spring. without a tight enough spring, your cylinder heads could actually make contact with the valves. He said he has seen a couple LS1s he has rebuilt with marks on top of the piston because theyre running too soft of springs.

Spring seat pressure is very important to consider when chosing springs, agressive lobes require more seat pressure
Someone should make a sticky with this info since there have been alot of questions about what springs for what cam.
I've heard that the Crane duals are very nice also...
