so i bought a complete forged 408 short block!

Default so i bought a complete forged 408 short block!

i picked up a complete texas speed 408 lq9 motor for dirt cheap,never been used.(his loss my gain) my quaestion is im looking to put on upwards of 500rwhp usable hp into my 01 sierra single cab.so what set of heads,type of custom cam,injectors,lt headers and catted y pipe (since i live in california) should i go with?

the motor is 11 to 1 comp,diamond pistons,eagle crank,eagle h beam rods, complete arp bolts and studs.
im still trying to learn these motors and your guys input would be nice

I thought the motor was complete? I take it you want to change the heads and cam?

lol must be a some what complete short block.. imo slap on some l92 heads

$2800 intake to oil pan. the 6.0 had 4000 miles,all the machine work done,built by my buddy who told me it was up for sale.(he was building this for a fox body and i guess ran into some $$ issues and sold it for way less then what he had into it) his loss my gain

sorry, came with stock cam and stock 317's. im not gonna use the heads or cam. would like to go aftermarket

He built a forged 408, 11 to 1, with a stock cam and stock heads???

I'm guessing the builder ran out of money before he purchased the new heads and cam.

Compression ratio depends on the heads' combustion chamber size. Hopefully the OP understands that.
