Question Smoothing out timing curve?

Any of you guys with edit or a custom program have you timing curve smoothed out. I have been doing a good bit of browsing on ls1tuning the past couple of days and a lot of the cars are just smoothing their curve out and getting the a/f right. Any ideas? Here is a screen shot of my curve:

What exactly are you talking about smoothing out on the timing?

I haven't really messed with adjusting timing in one specific area much. I usually just adjust the whole table up or down. Not the most scientific deal but, HPP3 does basically the same thing.

That is a plot of engine load(gms/cyl) vs. ignition advance. It's the LS1edit graph representation of the timing in the computer.

gms? And it's advanced not retarded right? I thought that the computers have a tendancy to retard under WOT? Did you edit that out?

gms/cyl = Grams of air per cylinder

That graph is of timing advance . The computer will retard timing for knock, high temps, on shifts, and some other things but, that graph does not show that stuff. All that can be edited with LS1edit though.

I think the curve is based on the combustion characteristics of the engine and should be left alone. I think just playing with the high load values a little and watching for spark knock is the best way to pick up a little. That's what I do anyway. You end up being commited to using premium fuel, but I think anybody going after max performance is doing that anyway.
