schino, I was not spinning - I ran out to have a smoke a grabbed my time slips, best was a 2.23 60' 14.70ET 95.4MPH. With everyones input I guess it really makes sense now... Tisk tisk on my part for being cheap when buying the converter.

Maybe I will put a new converter in it soon... I just hate the thought of losing MPG! Anyone with a similar setup have a good estimate of how much city MPG i'll lose with a small diameter 3500 stall?

my truck with just headers and tune 4.8 long bed had a best of 2.39 60ft 15.1 et at 90mph. if you figure .2 off the top end for every .1 you drop in 60ft which is pretty average would put me at 14.8 with your 60ft but still low mph. i just couldnt 60 with the tight stock verter. a 3500 stall sounds like it would be fun

Suprised nobody has thrown this out yet but if you want to keep it driving like stock with a higher stall speed look at the reviews of the Circle-D 278mm converter..

Question

andrew383, Thanks! I was looking at that converter about 6 months back when I was putting my wish list together. I really liked the sounds of it, but thought it was not much more than a trailblazer converter. (tisk tisk $150 shipped vs. $400 + shipping) Are you running this one? Anyone else with a trailblazer converter having similar results to me?

14.8 with all that? Something has to be wrong.. I run 15.01's with an intake, exhaust, tune, and some All-Terrain tires in the back.

rjwz28, I would have to agree, I do not think it is any one thing. However, from everyones input, it seems the converter with my cam selection is hurting me the worst. (or vice versa) Maybe a few tenths/MPH here and there form things like, heavy wheels, high temps, and the fact my truck is over-weight, etc.

The truck really does run awesome, it may not be fast, but it sure is a lot better than when I first got it (all stock).

So if I want to keep the DD and MPG but pickup at the track. Is this Circle-D 278mm converter converter enough?
