Exclamation Slow 1/4 Mile - 5.3 2WD ECSB

So I've been festering over and over about this, it seems like my truck is just not up to par with some of the others with similar mods. What do you guys think? Where should I go next? This is my DD, and I have a turbo S10 sooo not really looking to go forced induction or N2O, All thought I know that would solve the problem Here it is...

It’s a 2004 GMC Sierra, 2WD, ECSB, 5.3L, 3.73, 275/45/20, weighs just over 5000lbs with me in it. Everything engine/transmission is stock except:

TSP 220/220 .581/.581 112 (Spring and Pushrods to match)
Mild hand ported 862 w/ 2.00 intake, 265cfm@.600 210@.600, decked .015
Pacesetter LTs w/ ORY
Mac Single 3" 'Catback'
Trailblazer Converter
Tuned w/ HP tuners by me

First time at the track with this truck; 14.7 @ 95 w/2.2 60' (was about 95* that day, intake temps were around 120*) I messed with the tune quite a bit, but didn't change a whole lot - 14.83 - 14.7ET & 94 - 95MPH.

it needs way more stall as in like a 9.5 inch 32-3600
I am in the same situation with a 220 cam myself but i have a yank 3000 stall
you are about 5mph slower could be cause from high iat pulling timing

This is not the first time I have heard this with the 220 cam too. It's brutal without a high stall.

I will agree 100% on that!
Pulling my 220 for something with more lowend power so a high stall isnt needed

I 'zeroed' my iat after the first run. Picked up .1 and 1mph from that... I know I'm under stalled, just wasnt sure how much. Do you think that will pick up the MPH though? Thanks for all the replies.

Also 1—2 shift is taking a whole second to complete, pulling ~20* on the shift too. Is a shift kit inline next? Do you guys think I am leaving anything on the table by running the stock airbox and tube?

i use to have same truck but a 05. extended cab step side 5.3 3.73 on 275-60-17. muffler cut off and arm brute force intake and it ran 14.7 with a 2.2 in 73 degree weather or 55 degree weather.

i agree there is something wrong somewhere. check tune. check total timing, air fuel ratio, did you hog the heads out and ruin the velocity in them and then add a high revving cam with a high school budget converter?

where do you live? what was the weather like at the track that day? and whats the da?

im not being a dick just throwing ideas out there

'Badasschevy327' OP states the weather 95*. Timing is at ~29* with a dip to 26* at the estimated peak torque. A/F changing from ~11.5 - 12.5 was immeasurable in MPH or ET. Shifting at 6200.

Heads were ported by a buddy of mine who does head porting for a living. Very little material was removed, to keep air speed up.
