Silverado SS 6.0 mods????????
#1
I'm asking for my brother that just bought a 2004 Silverado SS. We are wondering what are some of the mods he can do to the 6.0 motor and what are some of the manufacturers of aftermarket equipment.
Thanks

I put this in your other post but you can do the home made ram air mod for one. It really helps the intake, it's easy and cheap to do. Keep the stock muffler, it's probably really good. I replaced a Magnaflow I was usng with a stock muffler and tailpipe from an 03 Avalanche and didn't loose any performance, just the interior noise. Don't know if they're making a programmer yet but the Hypertech I'm using really woke my 5.3L up using the 93 tuning. I understand that the SS needs 91 gas stock, don't know it the HPP tuning will help but extending the shift points will definitly help it pull in each gear longer. Just a few ideas.

the ONLY mods you can do to one are as follows:
1. longtube headers
2. supercharger
3. nitrous
4. gears
5. upd
6. heads
7. cam
8. more nitrous
9. more boost
10. the rest of the bolt ons.
those are the only ones you can do...all the rest are against the law and you will be hauled off in the meat wagon for performing them...especially if you run a throttlebody spacer. i'm with BLOWNCHEVY though...get a radix system...be the first charged SS and the fastest SS around(FOR A WHILE)

5. You mean air intake. UPD isn't CARB certified.
You could probably go with roller rockers too.
Oh, and 1. You can run any shorty headers, or any headers that don't move the cats, the (only?) longtube headers, AS&Ms are not CARB certified.

Dcairns already has the Radix system on his SS.
IM going the turbo route
So far all I have is a UPD intake and LS1 fans. It helped the truck out a lot, the ram air mod will help out even more. I would also definately reccomend getting a converter. that will really wake the truck up because of the fact that he will have no traction problems whatsoever. combine those with a good exhaust system and a Diablo and he will be moving

I drove one the other day. A stall converter, decent camshaft, headers, and a 100 shot, it will be driveable. With the AWD I would do a stall converter first. It would do so much for those trucks.
