If you want to keep from spewing gas from the rail when you pull out the schrader valve, pull the fuel pump relay then crank the truck and let it die. Taking the gas cap off is not going to relieve the pressure in the fuel rails.

btw.. a female 4AN is what you need to connect your hobbs switch to the fuel rail at the test port.
Old thread but I've been gone. Taking the gas cap off would relieve the pressure...at least that's what my Chilton manual said to do and it took all of 5 seconds so I took it off.
