I got my OBX FMIC for $250 and $35 shipping. Stainless pipe was a little over $200 I think, but I should have quite a bit left over. I think I spent a little under $100 for high temp silicone couplers and T bar clamps.
Now if I could only put it together

.... I would look into a few other mods if you still aren't happy with the power you are getting, don't just crank the boost **** up yet. I'm in the same boat as you are. My power isn't near what I want it to be. Look into a good cam after you get that FMIC on there. Also, e-fans help free up power as well.

also, do you have springs on that thing yet?

Good info guys...

Green, did you have to also invest in electric fans?

Honestly? I'll never have enough power!
In reality, the thing is an absolute beast. But I figure, why leave power on the table if I can have it for free?? Yes, I do have springs/pushrods in now.

Ok, so you've all talked me into sticking around 9psi. I'm sure once the Trans/Stall goes on in 2 weeks it will be an entirely new toy! Then the next project will be the FMIC/Fans. Oh my poor wife...

Ya I did. It wasnt bad and the engine bay is SO much cleaner. I got the harness from Nelson and he threw in a switch so I can turn them on whenever I want.
470 in that thing must be sick! Ive got another 5K in mods I need and that doesnt include the shortblock. I hope to be damn near 600 by this time next year, but that is easier said than done.
Its only money right

Yep, 470, and that's at 30% drivetrain loss from the AWD (from what I understand). That puts me at 670 "crank" HP. Now if it just wasn't 5700lbs it would be a total animal!! I need to find one of those "405 HP" Z06 badges and have it made to read "670 HP"!

I hear you on the $$$$ part. There's always something else that I'm finding I "need" to buy. I think with a bit more tweaking I should hit around the 500awhp mark at 9psi. Right now I'm tuned way rich on the Meth. After that, the FMIC will be next along with the eFans, maybe a bit more boost, and low-mid 500's. THEN I'll be done.......riiiiiiiiiiighhhhhhht.........

24% from AWD is what I've always heard. 30% seems really really high.

The new tranny will help -- did you get a PI with a "turbo" stator?

And get some damn efans!!

Weedo, are you consistant on your low boost (5lbs)?? I was seeing an issue where my boost goes to 11-13 without being on high in the boostcontroller.

I'm basing that on what both shops (Tuner and Dyno) are telling me. They figure around 22% for a rear wheel drive truck (more than a car). Adding the all-wheel drive puts it at least at 30%. Either way, the numbers don't mean much, it's the fun factor!

I ended up calling PI and having them custom build whatever they thought was best. I believe it's the 10.5" multi-disc 3 plate. He said he would put the stall in the 2900-3000 range. I gave him all the stats on the truck: power, weight, etc... and he knew exactly what he was going to build. My guess is that he's using the Turbo Stator if that's what he should use.

I haven't had that problem with the 5psi setting. I've only had it on that setting a couple of times. On the dyno I watched it go from 5psi to 6 or 7 but that was on the shift which is normal with a slipping trans. Seems odd yours would go THAT high!
