It is my understanding that s/s headers can rust, but are much more resistant to do so. Coated headers will not rust as long as the coating stays on, but the factory coatings are not as robust as a Jet Hot coated header, which coats the outside AND inside of the header (about $275-$300). Factory coated are usually just the outside with 1 or 2 layers. I have heard of many instances of the factory coating flaking off, which will allow rust to form. The best possible way to prevent rust (and most expensive) would be to get s/s headers Jet Hot coated. Jet Hot will also keep underhood temps significantly lower. If you are worried about road salt, I would go s/s or Jet Hot, not factory coated. Just my .02.

I just got my painted pacesetter headers. Quality is very good. The welds look good and the flanges are nice and thick. Tubes appear to be thick as well. Theyre very heavy. Its gonna take a long time for them to rust out here in AZ

I also got a tr220 112 cam as well....

Last time I checked this thread, it was 8 to thirty something in favor of LPP... Guess there are some late entry Pacesetter supporters
