Default Should I buy a new GMC?

I e-mailed gmc to see about a new truck. Unlike chevy, GMC has the option of 4.10s in the 1500 4x4s. Im kinda thinking about a base model, vynel floor work truck. Reg cab, swb 4x4 with a 5.3 and 4.10s should be a pretty hard runner. Just wanted to get some inputs from everyone about what they think about this combo. Its better than a Lightning

Buon giorno
That will be a great base model to start with. Had I known when I bought my truck, I would've gotten a 5.3 and a 4X4 as well

I like the 4.10s option in a reg cab. Not to mention how ugly the new Chevys are. Exept the SS, its alright.
900Z71, have you had your truck to the track yet? Im guessing a base model with some wieght redux should hit 14.5s easy stock.

Thats all fine and great for straight lines but what about tearing up the twisties with that hotchkis setup... ? With that rear wheel drive I think it would be alot nicer, no power steer or pull...

If we could only find traction....

Ive got a couple other vehicles for that stuff. My camed Z28 is my gas saver, my lifted 4x4 Blazer is my family ride, the Honda, well its a honda. My truck is my racer. I just want to get down the 1/4 as fast as possible in a truck. My truck now has everything, and i like it. I wonder how much more a loaded GMC wieghs over a base model.

Yea, straight lines use 4x4, then for canyon carving use 4x2
I don't even have any serious power and I can't get traction for ****.

Tru

But I think we can get good traction without a 4x4 ...

You also got 20s, 410s and a big stall....

What did you think was gonna happen?
