Should I buy it?

Hey guys so tomorrow I'm selling my v10 m5
. I test drove this 04 Silverado today, 80k miles . It has a side mounted Whipple with methanol injection, caltracts, electric fans, exhaust cutouts, long tube headers, sounds like it also has a mild cam, vacuum is at 15 at idle. The paint is ok, interior ok, no rust, A/c works. I got on it a bit even though the methanol is empty and it pulled pretty good, saw 5 psi of boost.
The bad. 1 previous accident, repoed before. The cutouts are missing the wires so they are shut closed. The electrical fans are being held with tie wraps and no shroud. Abs light is on but I saw the brake fluid low.
They say its a 5.3 but I'm not sure. Don't know if the transmission is stock or has been upgraded to support the power.
He's asking $9000... Good or pass?

Honestly I'd pass, there isn't enough paper work or actual true knowledge of what's done to the truck to make it worth it. You could be buying a huge can of worms and likely would be.
I'd hold out for a stock truck and build one yourself.
Why you have to get rid of the M5?? That engine note is pure awesome but the transmission issues are crazy expensive.

I just want a lower monthly payment and I've always wanted a boosted Silverado. Yes the m5 exhaust note is inase especially with the tune at 8700rpm
.
I also test drove this mint 2007 Silverado crew cab 4.8 with 96000 miles bone stock but they want $15k. And then I can't have it stock for too long $$$..
I'm interested in this truck simply because somebody else spent all the money. I would have to shell out 4 grand for a s/c or turbo kit.

Side mount whipples are scary as parts have become some what scares. I would look for an 05 5.3 of whatever trim level you prefer. In 05 you have one of the best factory setups at an affordable price. They can be found for 6-8k all day long. Start the process with a bang and order a sinister budget kit, 72lbs injectors, and an AEM 320 fuel pump. Get a good live tune on low boost(5-6lbs) then save for everything you will want in order to turn up the boost. You will spend $3000 now to make around 300-350rwhp. Down the road you can swap or build the trans. Then add the valve train to support more power. Bump to 12lbs and see up over the 500rwhp in a hot second.

Sounds like a POS cobble job. I'd bet that if you ran it hard for a weekend it would fly apart. You can build a truck with a known history with better build quality for about the same coin.
Offer them 6 grand max and plan to put a correct drivetrain and a computer in it.
