Default Which Cam for my mods ???

Hey guys, new to the forum and been out of the engine world for a long time.. I have a 1997 Single Cab Chevy with a 5.7 vortec.. Stock with a hypertech programmer, true duals, CIA, 3.42 gears with locker.. I wanted to upgrade my spider injection system but figured why not upgrade the intake to the edelbrock pro flo xt.. I am going to run a set of long tube headers as well with probably a black bear tune.. My question is which cam should i go with ?? i was thinging the LT4 hot cam kit.. I'm not looking for a super fast truck but decent gains with some awesome sound! Thankyou in adavnce for any help and advice!!

Lingenfelter Hydraulic Roller Camshaft L98 LT1 LT4 1987-96 TPI - Lingenfelter Performance

that would probably fit the bill well.

Thanks again

Yeah the 96/97 PCM is an awful price of crap. Just swapping to a 411pcm and tune guys gain 45hp. Might consider looking into the 411 swap.

If you consider a new PCM, consider the EFI 24x solution and do away with your distributor. EFI Connection, LLC - EFI Connection 24x System

For Gen I truck engines, I liked the comp cams 260HR. You wouldn't want to go too much bigger for a truck with stock stall converter. Check out cam selections for comp cams at CamQuest ? Select The Perfect Camshaft & Valve Train Components. Put in your specs and performance choices and see what they offer.
