Short belt?
#2
I haven't done it myself, but I know you have install and additional idler pully to route the belt properly. Maybe Lotsofun will enlighten us a little more since he has done it.

When we short belt, the belt just slightly touches the power stearing pump pullie. It turns slightly but under rpm, i don't think it will effect you. If you get and underdrive pullie, then it will not touch the power stearing pullie. I don't know if it really helps the truck, ( i never did it on mine) but i do have a couple of friends that are running good numbers that do it. But like someone said, It does get hot around that engine trying to change that belt... I suggest a pair of long sleeve and some good gloves..... Hope i helped and have fun getting burned....
