No, an assembled performance transmission. Ive heard the 4L80 is good to like 600hp with just a shift kit.

Hitman, one more for ya. What is a reasonable price to have someone install the FLP. It seems that at this point it would make more sense to wait till my tranny takes a dump and just slap in the FLP. Ive already got 70K on my transmission. Thanks for all the info!!!

hitman: have you heard/seen any broken plastic acc. pistons? im worried now.
Flyer's was cracked and I think mine was too when it came apart. It's gonna be a hit or miss type of deal. It's so cheap, it's silly not to upgrade.

Well actually I was planning on building some pretty soon here...would you be interested in one too? and the 4L80E is pretty different in comparison to the 4L60E. It really just needs a good built VB and a cooler, should take a good amount of power then.

$250-400 again for an install. Depends on the labor per hour. Typically it's about $70/hr around here.

If you've got 70K and plan <450rwhp then that tranny from them should be a good setup. If you plan much more power than that, I'd consider a 4L80E swap...

Hit Man X, not quite sure what your asking....but if you mean that your going to be building some pre fabbed upgraded valve bodies where all I have to do is unbolt mine and bolt yours up, then yes I would be interested. Please don't take this the wrong way but how qualified are you at doing this?

Yeah, I've been thinking on building some assembled VBs here. 99silver5.3 wants one pretty bad Well I'm not ATRA or ASE Certified or anything but I do know a good deal on trannies and very capable mechanically. I'd end up sending ya one (VB w/ TransGo) and you bolt it up.

If you like it, pay for just the shift kit and send me your stock VB in return. That's the plan until I could get enough out there.

Billets are for the 700R4/4L60E trannies (well they got them for the 200-4R, AOD, etc ) but in our trucks there are no billet apply servos for the 4L80E.

The 4L80E doesn't use a band for gears (it has one but it's like a coast or reverse band, I can't remember right now I haven't slept in close to 34 hrs) it uses clutches for each gear. Forward for 1st, intermediate for 2nd, direct for 3rd, and OD for 4th.

So there is no need for an apply piston of a band to make a shift. Hope that makes sense...

Oh well, the 4L80E is bigger, stronger, and better than the 4L60E but takes more power to run.

It's okay, I don't sleep much anymore.

Hitman helped me through my install, well gave good advise to listen too, flyer too. There both well educated in the art of Shitkits, I mean shiftkits.
If Hit does offer a prefabbed valvebody, then go with it, I would trust his work.
