Not sure about the shift kit, but I have heard good things about it. I got the corvette servo last weekend, and I love the shifts now. It firmed up 1st and 2nd shifts at part-throttle a lot, and the 1st to 2nd shift at WOT is great. It just glides into second now, unlike before it would shift really slow and weak. I am very happy with it. Just something else to think about.

The Corvette servo is like 20 bucks and takes 20 minutes to install and it will firm it up real nice especially with the Hypertech tuning. That's what I have. But if you want a shift kit, that would be better, but more expensive and hard and time consuming to install.

Let your truck cool off, then remove the heat shield on the right side of the transmission by the cat. It's 2 10mm bolts, you have to use a socket for these. Then you can see the round housing and there are 2 slots in it. There is a ring holding it in. I used a screwdriving and tapped it up there to remove the retainer. Then very carefully pry the piece out with the screwdriver without scratching it or breaking the seal (just incase the new one breaks when reinstalling you will have a spare.) Now I did not do this, but remember the order you pull the parts out. Just start pulling stuff out, on one piece I had to remove a retaining clip and a washer and pull it apart while still under the truck because it would not come out, since you are working so close to the tunnel. When you have all the stuff out one piece has a retaining ring and then a cover and a spring under it that you have to transfer to the new part. You can use a C clamp or if you don't have one just put something on it and step on it to remove and reinstall the retaining ring. Then put new seals on and put vaseline on them and reinstall everything like it came out. The tricky part is doing to part with the washer and then putting the ring back on it since there is not much clearance. Then it help the get a buddy to use some kind of tool to push the whole assembly in while you reinstall the retaining ring. It sounds complicated but it isn't. You can find pics on the internet if you go to a search.
