Default Shift kit, converter, and tune

Will there be any problem getting my tune tuned for my shift kit and converter before I put them in. I know the trans will shift softer, I just dont want to have to retune after the converter swap if I can go ahead and get that tuned in now.

You should be fine as your pressure settings shouldn't change much from stock. Stock trans settings will be fine on a transgo w/no washers and 3000 stall converter. Your main setting will be shift points which is more dependent on your powerband and you may want to bump up the part throttle tcc lockup a few mph but that is more of a perference thing, not a necessity. Just try not to get on it much till you get the transgo in if you have all of you TQM removed.

I did it and I don't recommend it. I was planning on installing the shift kit soon after I received it but I wasn't able to. After about 2 months, I noticed that it seemed to slip a little when it shifted. A few months later I had to have the transmission rebuilt due to the slipping.

If you are sure you will install the shift kit soon after the stall, it should be okay. The softer shifts are due to the tranny slipping. Once it starts slipping, it only gets worse.

if the tune is done right the tranny settings will be stock. as for the converter. there is a few settings that will need to be made. but as far as driving it till the parts are installed i dont see a problem.

Thanks guys I'll be two footing for about a week, but should be doing the shift kit next weekend. The stall I'm not sure of. I'm trying to come up with some cash right now.
