Wow, a lot has changed since my last visit to LS1tech... neways on with the problem...

I have a very big chance of gettin a 6.0 from an escalade at a killer price... but I have to be able to dump my 5.3 in a '96 chevy 2500 longbed w/ a blown 350 in it (about 95% sure it's a 350)... Will the 5.3 work in this truck??? I have heard that the 2000 5.3 will work but not the 2001... is this true or is somebody full of it...

Also on another note... is the 6.0 from the escalade's the LQ4 or LQ9??? Just curious... thanx fellas.

 

The Escalade has the 345hp high output 6.0L engine in it...I belive the LQ9

 

Allwheel drive Escalades have LQ9s while 2wd Escalades have a 5.3.

 

There's no reason that a 2000 5.3 would work and not a 2001. The motors are externally the same from 99-05...the only difference that I can think of might be in tuning and maybe cam specs or heads (L33). Either motor will take the same amount of work to put into an OBS Chevy truck.
