Nope not if you get one that cleans as you run it out. Either way he is going to get some $hit in the cylinders he can just hope for the minimum amount.

piston, ring, valve seat, valve guide(I dont think stock are bronze), valve, cylinder wall, could be any number of things.

A boroscope is tool that has like a little fiber optic tip on it that can be stuck small places and usually has a light attached to the end, you look into the other end like a telescope and you can see into where the little fiber optic piece is at

couldnt the loose metal slivers get bound up when trying to thread the plug and cause it to stop moving?
Yes thats why you should get a chaser

cant you turn the motor over with plug out and the compression will blow thw shavings out?

ok well ill just have to wait until a vehicle gets here. how about leo's idea? the tooth brush, i could rotate it like im removing a plug and shouldnt it pull the shavings out?

are you talkin about a full onn attempted start or doin it with all the coil packs disconnected? wouldnt this spray fuel everywhere?

Yes but I wouldnt recommend it cause as you run the t-brush in there you could push more metal into the cylinder and pull out a very minimal amount. A thread chaser is the best option. Since it sounds like it is a magnetic metal it doesnt sound good

Wont spray fuel everywhere, I wouldnt recommend this as it could suck in the slivers on the intake stroke since you dont know where its at in the cycle, not to mentino grind more shavings into the rings/cylinder walls
