Default Second opinion on EPS camshaft

I was planning a 402 and try a remote mounted Comp Turbo but the Guy changed his mind on selling me the 402 rotating assembly. So plan B a LQ9 I have with Dart 225 Pro 1 heads and a TBSS intake in a 2000 Chevy 1500 ECSB. I spoke with Geoff at EPS and he suggested a 226/230 .590 .609 on a 113. That was right in line with what I was thinking, and I just want to additional input because in the council of many is knowledge

Well then, those cam specs look good to me. That is about the same size I would like to run in my truck for the perfect blend of torque and high end power.

That's what I was originally thinking but I was wondering about maybe more lift because the extra flow the Darts will have over a stock casting head. Tonight I'll look at flow numbers to get a better idea of what I'll run.

It's a extended cab so it weighs more than a RC. I want a 3200 or so TC and a 4.10 or 4.30 gears. I want to be able to still tow my Camaro with it. So I'd say 6000-7000 lbs. Another thing with the flat top pistons what would my CR be with the 62CC heads? You say bigger how much bigger? I think I am happy with the duration numbers but maybe a Tad more lift since the heads should flow much better than a 317. I'm hoping for 400whp and maybe spray an addicting 100-125 shot on top. I'd like to see 13s NA and high 12s on spray. My last truck was a Duramax that went a 14.3 at 97 spinning so this truck has to faster than that one

i wouldnt worry about the weight difference between a rcsb and ecsb too much. i ran a 231/239 in an ls1, then 235/243 in 6.0. if you want to tow, that seems like a reasonable cam. pick a lobe that suits you better. if you order from eps, plan on it taking 2 or 3 weeks longer than any other sponsor on the board.

All the lobes he is specing are real close to the Comp off the shelf LSR cams...I think with factory heads the lift would be closer to .58x/.59x and he is adjusted for the darts...I really want to get a small/mid duration/high lift cam...

The Darts look good with lift all the way to 600 where the stock 317s don't gain much past 550 lift. If I went any bigger I'd go maybe 230/234 .620 on maybe a 114 lsa or something around that. See I don't think there'd be much difference across the rev range to make up for the higher powerband and accelerated wear on the valve train. If I'm not on the right track please let me know as I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Exhaust are 1 3/4 header with 2 1/2 collector, dual (that is how you spell DUAL as in exhaust not DUEL people come on) 2 1/2 with X and long bodied Magnaflow muffler. I'm sure that will dictate exhaust duration to a point
