Default Running rich???

When I start up my truck and rev it a little grayish/black smoke comes out the exhaust . Would this be caused by my cats being gutted and the o2 sensor thowing a code which makes it run rich? Or is there something else going on. My video is being "optimized" right now but I'll post the video of it as soon as it is done.

The answer is yes that is propably your problem, a tune with rear O2 sensors eliminated would fix your problem. Another option would be to replace your cats.

Just for the heck of it, you should take a quick look at the fuel pressure regulator and make sure that it's not adding to the problem. Pull the vacuum hose of of it and make sure there's no fuel there, it should be dry. If gas is there, it is leaking and needs replacement.

It's in the middle of the driver's side fuel rail, held in with a clip. You just need to pop the hose off it to check it. If you need to replace it, just remove the clip and make sure you get the o-ring out that may be stuck in the fuel rail after you remove the regulator.
