I know. When GM introduced VVT, they introduced the pistons with the valve reliefs. So, do the flat tops do away with VVT or are they shorter or is there enough clearance anyway?

You would have to swap the cam, use a phaser lockout on the cam gear or tune out vvt.

I can’t imagine the reliefs making that huge of a difference. You would have to have a pretty high duration cam for PTV clearance to be an issue.

PTV clearance is affected more with duration than lift.

The flat tops normally go along with vvt delete. most tuners ive seen either cannot tune vvt correctly or just do not want to take the time to do it so i normally recommend vvt delete. Its the same price as keeping vvt including the phaser etc and less labor so its a wash there plus your cam options are opened up.

Ok, so the purpose of this post is to offer flat top pistons when someone deletes VVT to gain some compression.

The 372 i built actually used the same pistons from our flat top upgrade kits. Going strong in Cali at mid 400hp.

We will hopefully have some news soon about other upgrades to the kits!!
