Default rev limiter?

Is the rev limiter a spark shutoff or a fuel shutoff?

The reason I ask is ever since I upped the boost and got the 3800 converter, if i'm in 2wd on the street and traction isnt good, it'll tag the rev limiter every once in a while before it shifts.(1-2 shift)

Shift point is at 5900 rev limiter is at 6200.

This ever happen to anyone else?

Should I just move the rev limiter up a little bit?

Wheres everyones set at?

On the LS1 cars it is a fuel shutoff so I would asume it is the same for the trucks.
