From what I know the Jegs one won't work, because you need a sealed system. You would be introducing unmetered air into the motor via the breather.

Yes, normal catch cans are plumbed inline with the PCV valve.

Looks like the same air/water separator that I bought from Wal-mart for $9.96.They had the 3/8 fittings there also.Got all I needed to do the install for 12.00.Mine didn't work to good at first,I didn't take the little white filter out and it just stopped up.I unscrewed the white filter in there and mine works like a charm.I get about half a canister full in about 2 weeks worth of driving,but I think I am using the ball type PCV valve.
