Has anyone replaced the cone filter that comes in the K&N intake system. Mine is starting to collapse. DOnt know why as i take good care of it. What are my other options besides a k&n. what are the costs of these filters. thanks..

I went with an S&B open end filter. same dimension as the KN. I have the KN cone that came with the kit still. I also have a larger S&b filter laying around if you interested with the Hangers.
pics are on my yahoo pic page. http://photos.yahoo.com/creederado

creedarado,

i'll email you about the filter.

Shark_g, i think the k&n intake and upd are about the same, however, imo, i think the stock airbox is restrictive. just like the stock airtube. i have already used the volant and didnt notice anything with it. i'm happy with the fipk.

I think I heard that if you call K&N and say that it is rusting they will send you another one.

I called K&N and told them that my filter was rusting (and I mean it was *rusting* pretty bad) and they overnighted me a new filter, no charge, no questions.

Give them a call!

creederado: Where could I order an S&B open-end filter? How much are they?

Where did you get that clear plastic shield? Please e-mail me at rmdz83@worldnet.att.net or something!

My email is going to be down for a few days.
I got the S&B filter at
http://www.autocandy.com/powerstack.htm

I had a glass shop cut piece of polycarbonite from a template I made. I did it to go over the KN airbox to re seal it. - Due to the fact of upgrading to an HD hood it no longer sealed.
I'll email you when I'm back on line.
