Default Replaced lifters and still ticking

I replaced the lifters in my wifes Denali, and the tick is still there. I used new ls7 lifters, had them soak in oil overnight, followed directions to a tee... Could I have gotten a bad lifter or some other problem?

How were the bearings in the rockers? How did the old lifter rollers look... Is it a tick or an exhaust leak? Do you have a mechanics stethoscope?

Didn't really inspect the rockers but they all had the same amount of movement.

Some of old lifters had slight cupping where the tick was.

Sounds like a tick and not a leak, gets a little quieter when warmed up. Don't see or feel any leaks.

No i do not have a scope

A small exhaust leak out the manifolds can sound like a tick.

I have an exhaust leak when its cold that sounds like a lifter, but once it warms up it goes away, its at the y-pipe seal... Truck has had it, i will fix it and it comes right back.... Hell ive even replaced the exhaust and still had it... Engine mounts are the next victim, along with a set of longtubes.... Going to eliminate the issue all together and be done with it...

Its possible you may have a bad lifter, a weakspring, or a bad lobe on the cam, is it the factory cam?
