Default Removing TB: anything I should be aware of?

Tomorrow I receive my ported TB. I was wondering if there was anything I should know of or is it as simple as unscrewing 3 bolts and putting the new one in? Thanks. Oh, 10mm socket too, right?

Might as well do the TB coolant bypass mod while you're there. It should drop your IATs a little bit.

I already have it done.

I kind of wish I didn't. Personally I don't think it's worth the risk of the blade freezing open in the winter. Oh well.

That's why I didn't do mine....although I have thought about doing the mod in the summer and switching it back for winter when I "winterize" the truck (winterize= swap off JGP 20's and install Toyo 275/70-16 AT's, swap wipers with winter blades, lube front end and change oil if necessary, etc. etc.)

I just keep forgetting to do it lol

Typically they only ice up at idle, you don’t have to worry about it sticking wide open.

I read a story about a guy who did the mod and it froze up on him on a highway trip. Said the speed just kept increasing, had to slam as hard as he could on the brakes to get it to stop.
