FWIW, the engine crossmember can easily be removed. Just disconnect the rack and pinion and the remaining 4 bolts. That might make your install go a little easier.

I wish I could've seen how much that cherry picker was deflecting with the huge moment you applied.
Well I am going to be here all day so if you want to come by that would be great anything would be a big hand.

Damn well today I was all ready to drop in the motor and the tranny all as one piece. When I bolted the motor and the tranny I come to find out that the TC does not fit . It is to short. I was told that the motor was from a 00 truck because it did come with the iron heads. But I guess I do not have the longer crankshaft. When I ordered the TC I ordered for a 2000 drivetrain.

SO:
1)now no one can really know if both will go in as one piece.
2) what options does one recommed. I am going to call PI tommorrow and see what they say. Should I get a new converter? Or should I see about getting a crank spacer.

Wow, that's quite a predicament. I'd call PI first and see what they say. I thought you bought the engine/tranny together. I would think the years would match between the two seeing as their a pull out. Hmmm....?

Todd I need to use your truck for the sake of all manking. j/k I can't seem to find where this stupid wire goes so I kind of want to look at your truck and see what is up , or bryce if you are reading this maybe do you have some time that way I can compare mine with your guys.

When I ended up switching the entire harness I kind of got lost with all those wires.

I would have thought that the spacer went between the cranksaft end and the flexplate?

That is what I thought, so I think this would not remedy the problem. I called PI and they said that I could have as much as 3/16" of space between the converter and the flywheel. What I measured with the converter on was 5/16" of space. They said that I could just shim it out with 1/8" washers and then bolt it on.

What does everyone think, I will be right at the limit with the max reaching 3/16".
