Personally, I like the color matched trim. As far as removal, this is what I did. I got some 3M adheisive remover, a plastic Bondo applicator, several throw away towels and a hot hairdryer. I used the hairdryer to heat the emblems then the Bondo applicator to pry them off while heating. Some of the sticky will stay on the truck. Spray (a lot) of adhesive remover on whats left and between the bondo applicator and towels, work the rest of it off. The remover will not hurt yiur paint. Just wax the area after removal. It takes a little time and sore thumbs.

Yeah the 3M adhesive remover works very nicely. It first looks like it crystalizes the adhesive. To remove the adhesive after this occurs, just take a plastic razor to geantly scrape the treated adhesive off. I just removed emblems off of my friends truck. We used a hair dryer (this is a very good idea) to make the adhesive less sticky and ((carefully)) used a flat head screwdriver to help keep the adhesive stuck to the emblem and not the paint. It worked perfectly without the need of 3M adhesive remover because we were sure to make the adhesive stay on the emblem. My buddies truck took us just 30min. to remove the emblems. The key is to keep the adhesive on the emblem, use a little bug and tar to clean any outlines the removal leaves, and take your time to do it right. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

there is also something made by 3M that is like a rubber wheel that you can attach to a drill that will remove the adhesive. I did mine the hard way on my 98. 4 hours and 2 raw thumbs.
