Default Removing Drive By Wire

Im in the process of helping a buddy do an lq4 swap into his truck. The lq4 that we got came with drive be wire but we need it converted to a cable system. The guy that sold us the motor gave us a cable style TB. But never said anything about having to convert it. I searched the forums but came up with nothing. So do I have to buy a new harness and pcm or is there some way to convert it. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Bryce

Not trying to be a smart butt here but. Why not have someone like speartech make the harness and use a drive by wire pedal with an electronic trans? I personally think that would be sweet, I love a old school vehicle with 21st century tech in it.

Were gonna be doing a bit of modding but nothing overly extreme. I already have the 4l60e built and its done to the nuts so it will be there for a while. Might one day go back to a 400 or maybe even a 4l80. I thought about doing the electric pedal thing but I would have to buy the pedal setup and computer for it and a decent amount of time setting it up. So by the time thats all said and done I could probably find a new computer and harness for cheaper and it would be alot simpler.

Thanks
Bryce

You need a computer either way right?, just get a dbw one. I think it would be easier to just get a electronic pedal.

Personally, I don't like DBW...just and old school mental block I have. Would it be possible to bolt on the cable TB and use an 01-02 custom tuned truck PCM that's already set up for a cable? As far as the harness goes, I guess you could use and modify a truck harness, or check some of the companies that make retro-fit harnesses. Last I checked, Nelson Performance was offering engine swap harnesses...if the quality is anything like the efan harness I bought from him, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.
