Default Removed headlight w/ K&N FIPK, does it work?

I read about it in a magazine awile back. I'm thinking about trying it later in the year at the track. It seems like it would work in cool weather. Has anyone tested it at the track or anything?

I removed my headlight the last trip to the track. My times were way off (bad wheel spin) so my actual track times are not worth posting, but forced air right into the filter can not be bad. Also lower the tailgate (keeps the weight in the rear for traction, but helps with wind resistance), keep your spare tire on, and fold in the side mirrors. All that, and lowering the tire pressure in the rear tires, should make for a good run.
Good Luck

I don't know about 02 and previous truck body style with the 03 the headlights are quick relese, just a pin. Will try removing the right headlight and tailgate next time at the track.

I always remove the passenger side headlight when I'm at the track, and have found it to be worth about .1-.15.

while your at removing the headlight at the track, ther's a rubber flap you can remove by the radiator and a plastic brace your can cut out with a dremel. Just make sure you don't weaken the headlight bracket. For the 2 seconds it takes it is easy at the track.

I have a longer filter for sale if your interested. Send me a pm. The filter I used is the same size as the KN. I bought a cleaning kit but I'm pretty sure it is the same ingredients as the KN cleaning kit but I'll have to check.
