Default Regular Comp grind vs. this one

How about a 212/218 .558/.563 115 vs. 214/222 .581/.581 112 +4 (or something similar). I'm not sure if they could grind this 2nd cam on XE-R lobes or not, but if they could, it would have faster ramps too. Anyone have any idea on this? Heads will be 5.3s milled .050" (2.02/1.60" valves).

That second one has an awfully big split to be NA ... you plan on spraying the hell out of it?

I am thinking with that lift and the 112+4 lsa, it shoud make good low/midrange torque and still spin up to a little over 6k. Go ahead and try it and let us know how it does.
One question though... You dont think the larger 2.02/1.60 valves are going to crowd the smaller 5.3 combustion chambers? And I didnt think you could mill the heads over .040 without having piston/valve clearance problems?? I would really like to get the skinny on this since I plan on doing heads/cam in the next few months.

The 2.02 vavles are bigger than I really wanted. I had planned on using LS6 valves. The combustion chambers have been opened up so that the valves aren't shrouded. When I ordered the heads, I specified Stage I Patiot heads, but they sent me Stage IIs. I had already had some extra work done on them before I realized that they sent the wrong heads.

The milling issue is going to be different on every motor. I'm not that worried about it, I've seen guys with .060" milled heads on LS1s, with average size valves and cams with no problems.

My heads are milled .050 and ported with stock size valves. Wanna trade.
