Default Redish brown plugs!!!

Hey guys, anyone know if a redish brown plug, is a result of fuel additives. I think thats what is is but want a 2nd oppinion. tyi

Dude, when I replaced mine because of a P0300 "Random Multiple Cylinder Misfire" Code.......mine were redlike/brown on the tips......since I have went to the AC Delco part # 41-985 Iridium plugs.....and have no problem yet.

I do use a lot of fuel additives also......

i don't know how different these gen3 & gen1 motors react to those color plugs, but i can tell you if this was a gen1 motor, that's what you want the plug to look like.

Tan is normal...reddish brown sounds pretty close to that. I don't know but it doesn't sound like one of the trouble indications. Electrodes look good?

yeah electrodes are perfect, it looks like a redish brown opposed to a tanish color, i thought it could be from using a fuel additive such as a octane booster which i do use periodically.

That would cause the reddish hue.

Yep, octane booster & injector cleaner will turn them red
