i put a 5.3 in my truck with stock heads, cam, and intake mani. i went 13.6 all day long with that. had cold air, udp, long tubes, 3200 stall, 4.10s, e fans, and whatever other small stuff.

i would at least go with a 3200-3000 PI tends to be a little tighter than most

A lot of guys say that the 3000-3200 278mm Circle-D converter drives like stock under DD conditions.

i have to disagree...

Yank is known for having a tighter converter, and Circle D is kind of in the middle, and PI is known for being a looser converter. anyone can make you a converter for your needs though. if you want a DD friendly id say go with Circle D's 278mm 3000-3200 converter its about 400.00 vs the price of the others. i ran the 278mm 3200 from Circle D in my CC on 3:42s and 4:10s i loved it on both gears. also that converter put my CC at 13.0 every pass, and towed just fine.

RCSB is easy, id do what grey matter 04 said:

212/218 low lift cam
Circle D 3200
3:73s
Tru-Trac
3.5" CAI
tune
Pacesetter LTs

you could see a very strong combo with that an the MPH be close to 100 every pass.

Hmm ill see how a 3000Circle D looks on youtube.
Lol i know i'm gonna sound stupid but how do you lock the converter? You can have a tune lock it at different speeds right?
When i'm cruising do i want to have a converter locked?

12's are not gonna happen with a 2600 stall NA.

You can get into the 12's NA in a RCSB its not uncommon with like a 220 cam but, you need to have all the supporting mods and a good COMBO is the key along with a big converter, Gears do wonders too. A 2600 stall just won't get you there.
A 2600 stall is pretty small for a NA setup, it would be fine for a boosted setup though on your RCSB.

Just look at bluecajun's truck on here with a smallish TR220 cam in his 5.3L and doing 12.4 NA but he has boltons, CircleD 3C (3800) converter, 4.10's and eaton lsd with Hoosier tires.

your stock converter locks at xxmph and xxmph unlocks at xx % of throttle and relocks at xx % of throttle.

you can set it up any mph/throttle position you want for your driving styles. a lot of people just leave them alone.

Bolt-on's and a good converter with traction will get you 13's easily, I'd be willing to bet you could do it without a converter really. I ran 13's with a 4.8 that had bolt-ons and a converter so I know a 5.3 would do it with even less.
