What do I need to replace when doing a rebuild of a motor? Looking for a list of gaskets, bearings, plugs, etc etc. The crank, rods, and pistons are fairly new (~10K miles), heads and valvetrain are fairly new (~5K miles), don't have a block yet, but I will be using the rest of the internals from my 5.3 with 110K miles.
Here's what I have so far:
Piston rings
rod bearings
main bearings
cam bearings
gaskets (timing cover and valve cover gaskets are new)
-oil pan gasket
-head gaskets
-rear cover gasket
-not sure what else - what am I missing?
timing gears / chain (is this necessary?)
freeze plugs
ARP rod bolts
ARP head studs
Any other advice or things to add to the list?
Also, what specialty tools will I need? Piston ring compressor? Anything else?

I don't know...all of the info I have gotten so far is from looking at rebuild kits available online. Haven't looked real hard but I haven't found one specifically for Gen III V8's....most are for older gen 350's.

Yes the freeze plugs are the allen head type. Im going to go ahead and change mine out just basically for the hell of it
Thunder a set of calipers never hurts to measure **** with to make sure you have to same tolerances.

I would say front and rear seals, o-ring for the oil pick up tube. Definitely a 3/8 torque wrench, dial indicator for endplay, feeler gauges, and a book with all the specs to go by. I bought a Haynes book from Advance Auto, it had all the specs in it.
