What size pushrods should ia use? Should i go with a double roller timing chain? Would it also be best for me to use arp bolts? any help on anyhting to make it a better motor would be very helpful.

7.4'' for stock heads. 7.3 i think for shaved ones. might as well go with a roller chain if you got the money. i would use arp head studs, rod bolts and possibly even main studs.

I'd stay with the 7.4 pushrods anyway. 0.1 to shave off your heads is ALOT. I had a sewing machine noise after my cam swap in my 5.3, when I put the shaved heads on (.020) it went away with the stock pushrods. In my 6.0, I have a bigger cam, and teh 7.4" Pushrods, I also used the ARP rod bolts, and after breaking a rod bolt in my 5.3, that was done while the motor was still on the stand

You can go with an LS2 timing chain...it's meatier than your stocker and you won't have to replace the cam and crank gears, nor will you have to shim the oil pump. They're fairly cheap too (not sure exactly how much, but I know it isn't too bad...if you do a search on LS2 timing chain I'm sure you'll find part numbers and prices)

408 I just cant see going back with a 6L thats why I went ahead and decided to build a 408 I think it owuld be alot more fun. While your at it get all forged components so you can spray an even bigger shot. Use ARP stuff wherever you can its fairly cheap insurance for how much oyu will be spending on the motor.

im sure it wouldnt be better than a double roller but if you dont want to spend that kind of money then a LS2 chain is an alternative.
